Oz The Great & Powerful [2013 Movie Review]
Thanks to Disney Studios Singapore and Nuffnang, Baby and I were given a pair of tickets to catch Oz The Great & Powerful and we really enjoyed watching the movie even though we caught it a little too late than the norm.
Here's the Movie Plot [as extracted from GV's website]:
When Oscar Diggs (James Franco), a small-time circus magician with dubious ethics, is hurled away from dusty Kansas to the vibrant Land of Oz, he thinks he's hit the jackpot--fame and fortune are his for the taking--that is until he meets three witches, Theodora (Mila Kunis), Evanora (Rachel Weisz) and Glinda (Michelle Williams), who are not convinced he is the great wizard everyone's been expecting. Reluctantly drawn into the epic problems facing the Land of Oz and its inhabitants, Oscar must find out who is good and who is evil before it is too late. Putting his magical arts to use through illusion, ingenuity--and even a bit of wizardry--Oscar transforms himself not only into the great and powerful Wizard of Oz but into a better man as well.
Our Review of the Movie: We found Oz The Great & Powerful to be rather heartwarming and we really liked how the story unfolded. The casts acted really well and we really hope that there will be a sequel in the pipelines. The movie is suitable for children and we really like how the movie teaches values such as responsibility and accountability. Having said that, there could have been some improvements made because we found certain scenes lacking depth and elaboration. Anyways, the movie doesn't follow exactly the way it is originally written by L. Frank Baum and it is 2 hours and 11 minutes long. If you're looking for a fantasy-adventure sort of movie, this is one movie you got to catch!
